Involves the use of warm bamboo sticks during a Swedish or deep-tissue massage. The heat of the bamboo helps to softens tight muscles and connective tissue. The bamboo also enables the therapist to get a broad/deeper pressure, if the client desires.

Cupping Massage

Based on the practice of Chinese cupping therapy. There are several types of cups. Most people think of the fire cupping which was seen in the movie Karate Kid. However, at Revive Bodyworks we typically use Baguanfa silicone cups, EarthSpa Bells, or the Kangzhu Biomagnetic cup. The cups create suction and negative pressure, which is said to soften tight muscles, tone attachment points of the muscles, loosen
scar tissue, lift and stretch connective tissue, increase blood flow to body tissues, improve synovial fluid secretions which decrease joint stiffness, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.

Biomagnetic Cupping Massage uses a plastic cup with a magnet
inside the cup. A hand held pneumatic pump creates the suction and the magnets
promote detoxification, improves sleep, improves bodily functions and calms the
nervous system, strengthens the immune system by increasing blood flow and
assist in removal of waste. There are two types of magnets. Negative (Blue)
magnets help to change the charge of the injured tissue from positive to
negative. It allows the tissue to enter a healing phase. Great for new injuries or chronic discomfort. The use of both positive and negative placed in a special pattern works well for sciatic problems or chronic injuries.

Pregnancy Massage

Similar to massage during non-pregnancy in terms of the goals. Some people get a massage for relaxation, pain relief, increased circulation & improved mobility. However, due to the changes undergone during pregnancy, modifications are made. In order t
o accommodate tender breasts and a growing belly, special pillows, sidelying positioning, and special techniques are utilized to ensure comfort and safety for both the expecting mother and baby.

While stomach sleeping may be a safe, comfortable resting position, once sufficient pressure is applied for an effective massage this is no longer a reliably comfortable and safe position. Laying on your stomach on a flat therapy table can exert strain on the low back, pelvis, and uterine structures. Stomach positioning shortens posterior musculature; compresses and anteriorly displaces the lumbar vertebra and lumbosacral junction; rotates the sacroiliac joints; and increases strain on the ligaments. Stomach positioning also exerts pressure on sensitive, enlarged breasts as well as increases pressure on already sensitive sinus areas. Some therapists will use a table with a oval cut out or use body cushions, HOWEVER, for the comfort of the mom and safety of the baby I eliminate the prone position after the first 13 weeks.

Chair massage

This massage is performed while fully clothed, on a portable massage chair. It is a great way for people
to try a massage who might not be comfortable lying on a massage table for one reason or another. Chair massage can also be done on-site in the workplace. Studies have shown on-site chair massage improves employee morale, improves productivity, and helps to improve employee longevity.

Raindrop Technique and Vibrational Raindrop Tecnique
This application technique was developed by D. Gary Young, one of North America's leading experts on the art and science of aromatherapy. This technique involves massaging oils on the feet at the Vita flex points. The oils are also dropped directly onto the spine from about six inches above the body and then worked into the spine using light strokes with the fingers, which stimulate energy impulses and disperse the oils along the nervous system throughout the entire body. This method supports many systems in the body. It can help ease aches and pains, supports a healthy immune system, a promote a deep sense of relaxation. The session lasts approximately seventy five minutes, but it has been said that the oils will continue to work in the body for a week or more following the treatment. When experiencing the Vibrational technique tuning forks are incorporated as well.
