A letter from Rachel Dahl, LMT, CCT, Owner
HI my name is Rachel Dahl, owner of Revive Bodyworks, LLC!
I help driven and active individuals pinpoint problematic issues and create customized massage sessions to decrease muscular aches, pains, or soreness so they can continue doing the activities they enjoy!
For those of you who don't know me, I would like to give you an opportunity to learn more about me.
I grew up in Jesup, and have lived within an hour of here my entire life. I received my first professional massage when I was 14 years old. I received that massage as a gift from my mom for qualifying as a team for the state cross country meet. While I received that massage, I recall thinking that I could see myself doing this for other people. I knew I wanted to help others, but I wasn't sure in what capacity. I decided that I would go to massage school and work part time, while going on to school in another area of the healthcare field.
After graduation, I moved to Cedar Rapids and attended Capri College of Massage Therapy. After becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist, I worked part time as a LMT for a group of physicians that treated patients for chronic pain and attended college.
I studied Physical Therapist Assistant and Occupational Therapy Assistant at Kirkwood Community College. After three years of intensive course work, I received an Associates of Applied Science Degree with a double major.
I worked in a variety of PT/OT settings including outpatient, in patient, skilled nursing, and home health. I enjoyed helping others and the challenge of the work, but felt most fulfilled with the results people achieved through massage therapy. I see changes occur physically, mentally, and spiritually.
In 2012 I decided to follow my dream of having a more balanced life: helping others and being a mom with flexibility in my schedule to attend my kids events.
When given an opportunity to "relax" I love to go for a run, ride bike, participate in strength training classes, and learn about health and wellness related subjects.
The areas of health and wellness that have been most interesting in the last few years have been the incorporation of cupping, therapeutic grade essential oils, and tuning forks.
Rachel has recently attended intensive training to bring new services to our community including: saline tattoo removal, permanent makeup such as Pixelblading, Ombré/Powder brow, Eye Liner, and Lip Blushing.
Carter Boggess joined the team in October 2020. Carter graduated from Carlson College of Massage Therapy in August of 2020. Carter grew up in Buchanan County. He is a graduate from East Buchanan High School. He also holds an Associates of Arts Degree from Iowa Central. He enjoys music, kayaking, and golfing!
Carter utilizes a mix of swedish massage, bamboo fusion and neuromuscular work during his sessions. He does a great job customizing each appointment to fit your needs, and as you know that is what we pride ourselves in at Revive Bodyworks. Carter also offers Massage Cupping techniques into his sessions as well.
We are beyond excited to welcome Megan Jones, LMT to the Revive Bodyworks, LLC team!
Megan attended massage therapy school at Capri College in Waterloo. She graduated in June of 2019. After college she worked in the Cedar Valley until moving to North Carolina, where she practiced the last three years. She provides a mix of Swedish, deep tissue, and cupping.
Megan recently returned to the area to be closer to family again. Megan grew up in Raymond, Iowa. She is a graduate of Don Bosco Catholic High School. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends as well as spending time outdoors soaking up the sunshine.
When I (Rachel) received her massage demo I felt she covered a lot of surface area in our one-hour session! She provided good attention to my problematic areas, and she added just enough relaxation techniques that had me close to napping on the table. She presents her self in a very professional manner and comes with raving references.
If you are looking for ways to improve your health and wellness naturally, give us a call at Revive Bodyworks, LLC.
